Zollverein Coal Mine
The Zollverein Coal Mine, also known as the “Eiffel Tower of the Ruhr Area”, was a hard coal mine in Essen that was active from 1851 to 1986. It was named after the German Customs Union, which was founded in 1834. Today it is an architectural and industrial monument.

Museum Folkwang is an art museum in Essen. It was opened in Hagen in 1902 by the art patron Karl Ernst Osthaus under the name Folkwang Museum and for a long time played a pioneering role in the field of modern art. The museum was sold to Essen in 1921.

All shopping opportunities in the immediate area are within walking distance.
It takes about 15 minutes by car or 25 minutes by public transport to Essen center.
Shops such as Rewe, Lidl, Aldi or Rossmann are just a few minutes' walk away.
Doctors, church, mosque, post office, hairdresser and banks are also within a radius of approx. 200 meters. Access to public transport such as buses, trams and trains is excellent. The distance to the southern train station is approx. 3 minutes on foot.

Our holiday apartments offer you comprehensive comfort and are cozy for your stay. All apartments are fully furnished, from TV to kitchen with microwave, hairdryer, washing machine and free use of WiFi. We provide travel cots and high chairs for small children. Pets are not allowed.
We operate all of the apartments ourselves and guarantee you optimally equipped apartments.
Our suites
Apartment I
The apartment was completely renovated at the end of 2015/beginning of 2016, is on the ground floor and is approx. 95 square meters. The rooms consist of a bathroom, kitchen, living room and 2 separate bedrooms and can sleep up to 8 people. For more people please contact us.
You have WiFi throughout the apartment. Underfloor heating provides warmth.
Living area & bedrooms
The stylishly furnished living area offers a sofa bed, a flat screen TV (DVB-T) and offers other options for more accommodation.In the bedroom there is a double bed for married couples and 3 single beds. The children's room is equipped with 2 beds.
Kitchen & Bathroom
The kitchen was also completely refurnished in 2016 and has everything you need for your stay.You will also find a large refrigerator with freezer compartment, electric stove, dishwasher, washing machine, washer-dryer, oven, microwave, toaster, kitchen radio, kettle and coffee machine.
Of course, the kitchen is equipped with enough towels, wipes, dishwashing liquid, cooking and eating utensils. There is also an assortment of bagged tea, coffee, spices and paper towels.
In the large bathroom you will find a bathtub, sink, cupboard, mirror and toilet. In addition to an electric hairdryer, hand and bath towels are also available for you.
Apartment II
The apartment was completely renovated in mid-2016 and is located on the second floor. The apartment offers approximately 70 square meters and consists of a bathroom, kitchen, living room and bedroom. It offers sleeping accommodation for up to 5 people. For more people please contact us. Here, too, you have Wi-Fi reception throughout the apartment and the floor provides warmth.

A complete renovation was carried out here in mid-2016 and is located on the first floor. The apartment has approx. 68 square meters and consists of a bathroom, kitchen, living room, bedroom and can sleep up to 4 people. For more people please contact us.
You have WiFi reception throughout the entire apartment, and it is also heated from the floor.
